Trailblazers- The Outdoor School
Camping Essentials List (This list is packed with essential camping equipment and tools)
- A tent- The Quechua 2-person tent is affordable and strong. It’s easy to set up and packs compactly.
- Tarpaulin – place your tent in the camping area that you have designated. It will make your shelter feel more like a porch.
- Sleeping bag – The openable one is the ideal choice. It is a bed or covers to cover the floor of the tent. Or when cold, could be put inside when it is zipped up.
- Bedsheet – To cover self to protect oneself in the event of using the sleeping bag as the queen-sized mattress. This is a must, as it can also be used as a stretcher or broken to form a sling in case of any injuries.
Gear- Outfit:
- Hiking boots – Depending on the terrain one is going into. It is also possible to pick a general one with a rugged sole that has high ankles and abrasive skin.
- Trek-pantsComfortable, loose with a full length, and quick dry. To dry off the sweat and limit exposure to mosquitoes.
- Cotton/ Quick Dry T-shirt – Use an earthy colour when you can, to ensure that trekkers don’t become too irritated. A lighter shade, to minimize the absorption of heat.
- In-socks and other clothing- Light-colored, soft cotton will make you feel at ease.
- Slippers to wear as you chill at night and after your hike is over.
- A complete set of spare clothes to be prepared in the event that we get in the middle of an unexpected shower or if you see an inviting pool to swim into but you don’t want to become too thin.
- Cap and Sunglasses – Protection from the sun.
- Watch Backlight, sweatproof straps and backlight are great features. Compass, altitude and pedometer are additional features that can be useful.
- Jacket It is dependent on the season. Windproof, water repellent, hooded and easily foldable in its own pocket are among my favourite features.
Gear- Accessories & Miscellaneous:
- Water is the elixir of Life. For an overnight camp, you’ll require five litres at a minimum. Keep in mind that this water is used for drinking, washing, and cooking.
- A head torch is essential. It is essential to have hands free to set up an overnight tent in the dark in addition to others. Head torches are sold for as low as INR 299.
- Personal Toiletries A small bottle of liquid soap that can be used as handwash, facial wash, as well as toothpaste. It is also able to double into toothbrushes, toothpaste, moisturizer with SPF, and toilet paper. These necessities can be adjusted to suit the needs of your own personal hygiene.
- Mosquito repellent – An absolute must! Vicks vapour rub can be an ideal substitute for sticky glue in the event that it is you’ve forgotten
- Basic first aid The ideal start-up kit should include paracetamol and muscle spray. Safety first, always!
- Garbage Bags — Leave no trace!
- Charger cable and power bank Being Aware that there’s a backup option will reduce stress. It’s a good idea to keep your phone in flight mode to preserve battery life.
- Earphones/Kindles with backlight– Based on what you want to do for entertainment
Gear-Meals (for a basic meal):
- Box of Candles & lighter to light up 7-8 candles together and create the appearance of a mini bonfire or stove. If one is unable to find firewood, or for other reasons.
- Aluminum Cup with Handles for heating water by burning candles, and to use for drinking drinks.
- Cup noodles Although they aren’t the healthiest, it is practical.
- Premix of the beverage of preference– From masala chai, milk hot chocolate to coffee all premixes are readily available.
- Snacks Nuts, cookies, trail mix, chocolate bars and chocolate bars are all excellent snacks to keep on hand for an instant energy boost.
Then, last but certainly not last, you need a great backpack to pack up everything you require for camping. Hallmarks of a good rucksack for me are-
- Front-load instead of top load to allow direct access to all items inside.
- To have quick access to a variety of things, particularly bottles, you can make use of external cases.
- Support for the back and straps is good So that the backpack perfectly aligns with the back and forms part of your body weight.
Cubes for packing are an absolute boon for anyone looking to comfortably carry around a backpack. Each cube is able to be turned into a shelf, which will save time and effort when looking for a lighter among the many objects.
