HORSEBACK RIDING
The facility is situated inside Cherry Creek State Park Discover Colorado nature in a new way by visiting 12 Mile Stables. Open year-round; visitors can enjoy over 3,000 acres of green space as they stroll along 27 miles of riding trails. Perfect for large groups, riders are able to choose their own adventure with up to two hours of rides through different parts of the state park. For families, you can schedule an excursion with a pony to introduce your little ones to the thrill of riding. Pairing dinner and riding is always a good idea. Adults and couples are invited to join in their Dinner and Sunset Rides. The rides will include BBQ chicken and beef brisket along with other homestyle food options on the open field. WATER SPORTS
You can enjoy the sun’s rays from your sailing boat, or try paddleboard yoga after dark. Quincy Reservoir is great for kayaking and canoeing. You don’t need to carry anything. Rentals of kayaks, canoes and paddleboards are available at Aurora Reservoir. Visitors are also able to use motorized boats that are not on the water. If you’re interested in tubing, water skiing and much more, head to Cherry Creek State Park. There is a paddleboard on site, a kayak, canoe, and rental boats. WILDLIFE VIEWING
Aurora’s native animals and plants are found in vast prairies and mountains. Aurora is situated within the High Plains and plays a significant function in providing a habitat for various animals. Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge has more than 15,000 acres of habitat that is protected for wildlife viewing, including bison, red-tailed hawks and bald eagles. FISHING
